Sanitary & Sewage (Title 15, Chapter 1)
Bayfield County is updating its existing County Zoning Ordinance. The objectives are to simplify and modernize the current ordinance, to bring it into alignment with the County’s Comprehensive Plan, to explore changes that could address housing reform, and to promote sustainable and flexible development.
This web page has been created to enable those interested to review Sanitary & Sewage (Title 15, Chapter 1) and ask questions or provide input. Some highlights of the changes in this Chapter include:

Clarifying requirements for holding or treatment of sewage for RVs and campers

Allowing holding tanks to be used as private onsite wastewater treatment system but requiring them to be pumped at least every 90 days

Providing clarity around return inspections and final inspections

Specifying that access to the premises for inspections continues for the duration of the permit
